Terms of Service

The agreement between you and the operator of Chronos for using the service.

1. The agreement

Chronos (“Chronos”, “the service”) is offered by Abhishek DG, an individual in India trading as 2090.tech (“we”, “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between us and you. By creating an account, connecting a tool to Chronos, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Acceptable Use Policy and the Data Processing Terms, which are part of them.

If you use Chronos for an organisation, you agree for it, and you confirm you may bind it; “you” then means the organisation too. If you don’t agree, don’t use the service.

2. Who may use Chronos

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under the laws that apply to you. You may not use Chronos if the law forbids you to, or if we have ended your access before.

3. The service

Chronos is a hosted, Postgres-compatible database with worlds (isolated copies), merge policies, reviews, history and related tools, reached through the website, the dashboard, the chronos command-line tool, an MCP endpoint for AI tools, a Postgres endpoint, and an HTTP API, together with sign-in for the apps you build (“Chronos Auth”).

  • Beta. The service is in beta. Features may change, be limited, or be removed, and it may be unavailable at times. We tell you before a change that takes away something you rely on, where we reasonably can.
  • No uptime commitment. The free plan comes with no service-level agreement.
  • The engine. The database engine’s source is published under the Business Source License 1.1. That licence governs the source code; these Terms govern the hosted service.

4. Accounts and access

  • You sign in with an account of a sign-in provider we support (such as GitHub) or with your email and a one-time code. Give accurate information and keep it current.
  • Keep your credentials secure: your sign-in, API keys, the tokens your tools hold, and your databases’ connection strings. You are responsible for what is done with them. Tell us at once if you think one was misused.
  • An organisation (“org”) holds projects. Its owners decide who is a member and what role each has, and are responsible for the people they invite.
  • One person, one account. Don’t make accounts to get around the plan’s limits.

5. Plans, limits and fees

  • The free plan is free and has the limits shown on the pricing page and in the docs. We may change the free plan’s limits; we give notice before lowering a limit you are using.
  • When you reach a limit, the service may refuse further use of that kind (for example new writes or new worlds) until you are under it.
  • Paid plans aren’t offered yet. When they are, their prices, billing and refunds will be shown before you buy, and those terms will apply to them.
  • Prices exclude taxes, which you pay where the law requires.

6. Your data

  • You own your data. “Your data” is what you or your tools put in your databases, your projects’ settings, and the data of your app’s users held by Chronos Auth. We claim no ownership of it.
  • What you allow us. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, process, transmit and display your data only as needed to provide, secure and support the service for you, and as the law requires. We don’t sell your data, use it to advertise, or use it to train AI models.
  • Your responsibility. You confirm you have the rights and permissions, including any consent the law needs, to put your data in Chronos and to have us process it. For your app’s users, you are the one who decides why and how their data is processed; we process it for you under the Data Processing Terms.
  • Sensitive data. Don’t store data in Chronos that the law requires special handling for (such as payment card numbers, health records or government ID numbers) unless your use meets those laws. The free plan isn’t designed for it.
  • Your own copies. History, undo and backups help, but they are not a substitute for your own exports of data you can’t afford to lose.

7. AI agents you connect

  • You may connect AI agents and other programs to Chronos. They act with the access you give them, under your account, and you are responsible for what they do, as if you had done it.
  • Worlds, merge policies, merge checks, reviews and history are tools to limit and undo mistakes. They work as described in the docs, but no rule catches every wrong change. You decide which rules to set, which changes to approve, and whether a project is in production.
  • Changes you or a member approve are yours.

8. Acceptable use

Use Chronos only lawfully and as the Acceptable Use Policy allows. You are responsible for your data and for how your apps use Chronos, including Chronos Auth.

9. Retention and deletion

  • Your databases keep past versions of rows for your plan’s history window (one hour on the free plan), and copies (backups) for your plan’s backup period (seven days on the free plan).
  • Deleting a project deletes its database at once; its backups are deleted as their period ends.
  • To close your account, ask us at legal@2090.tech. We delete your account data within 30 days, except what the law requires us to keep, and backups as their period ends.
  • If your account ends for any reason, export what you want to keep first. After deletion we can’t recover it.

10. Our property

The service, the website, the dashboard, our names and logos, and everything we make for them, other than your data, belong to us or our licensors. These Terms give you a right to use the service, not ownership of it. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely, without obligation to you.

11. Third-party services

Some features rely on services run by others, such as the sign-in provider you choose or the AI tool you connect. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them, and we aren’t responsible for them.

12. Suspension and termination

  • You may stop using Chronos at any time, and close your account by asking us.
  • We may suspend or end your access, or remove data, if you break these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if your use puts the service, other users or third parties at risk, or if the law requires it. Where we reasonably can, we warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem or export your data.
  • We may end the service, or the free plan, with at least 30 days’ notice, during which you can export your data.
  • Sections that by their nature should survive the end of these Terms (your data, our property, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, law and disputes) do.

13. Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that it will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that data will never be lost. The service is in beta. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under the law that can’t be limited by contract.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from or related to the service or these Terms, even if we were told they were possible;
  • our total liability for all claims arising from or related to the service or these Terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, and ₹5,000 (five thousand Indian rupees).

These limits don’t apply to liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for fraud.

15. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) brought by third parties that arise from your data, your apps, your use of the service in breach of these Terms or the law, or what the agents and programs you connect do.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Before going to court, contact us at legal@2090.tech and give us 30 days to try to resolve the dispute informally. The courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the service, and you and we submit to them. Either party may seek urgent interim relief in any competent court.

17. Changes

We may update these Terms. For a change that matters to you, we give at least 15 days’ notice by email or in the dashboard before it takes effect, except where a change is needed sooner for legal or security reasons. Using the service after a change takes effect means you accept it; if you don’t, stop using the service and close your account. The date at the top says when these Terms last changed.

18. General

  • These Terms, with the policies they name, are the whole agreement between you and us about the service, and replace earlier ones.
  • If a part of them can’t be enforced, the rest still applies, and that part is applied as far as the law allows.
  • Not enforcing a right isn’t giving it up.
  • You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them to someone who takes over the service, with notice to you.
  • Neither of us is liable for failures caused by events beyond reasonable control.
  • We may send you notices by email to your account’s address or in the dashboard.

19. Contact and grievances

Questions about these Terms: legal@2090.tech. Under India’s Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules under it, our Grievance Officer is Abhishek DG, at legal@2090.tech. We acknowledge a complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days of receiving it.
